Why We Exist
We believe girls are natural innovators, creators, and problem solvers.
Yet too many young women still face barriers to technology access, mentorship, leadership opportunities, and entrepreneurial education. Girls STEAM Institute™ was created to help change that reality.
Founded in 2014, GSI began with a simple but powerful idea: create a supportive environment where girls can explore STEAM not just as students, but as future innovators, founders, engineers, creators, and leaders.
What started as a passionate initiative has grown into a global movement connecting girls to immersive learning experiences, mentorship opportunities, collaborative innovation challenges, and transformational leadership programs.
Today, Girls STEAM Institute continues to inspire girls around the world to dream bigger, build confidently, and shape the future through creativity, technology, and purpose-driven leadership.

Diane McClelland is a visionary entrepreneur, educator, and nonprofit leader with decades of experience in business development, leadership, education, and innovation.
Driven by a passion for empowering girls and expanding access to future-ready opportunities, Diane founded Girls STEAM Institute™ to help young women discover their voices, confidence, creativity, and leadership potential through immersive learning and entrepreneurship.
Her mission continues to inspire girls worldwide to become bold innovators and changemakers.
